Cats On Cars And Spraying

I had been busy all week. I had been spying on this cat in my neighbourhood. This fat cat dared to climb onto different cars at different times of the day. Let’s check out her activities.

First, it was a blue car.

Then, it was a silver car. This was on another occasion.

Finally, when I returned home after my romps, I saw her again!

I’m not sure whether it was marking its territory. Spraying is one way for us to mark our territory. A tomcat will stand tall and lift his rump high, tail erect and quivering and then spray something that is quite pungent. It’s different from emptying our bladder. Some cats actually spray up to 60 times an hour, especially in the farms.

Why do we cats spray? It’s to increase the area. If there is a strange smell, it means there is another cat. This area is declared his area. Well, usually only intact toms spray, but for neutered toms, the smell is not that bad.
